As spring sports begin, girls badminton does too. It isa great sport to join at Taft but also very overlooked.
Last year and 2018-2019 the girls badminton team finished fourth in the City Championships. This is a huge accomplishment for Taft. This year they hope to be a lot more competitive.
There are a lot of returning players this year including Christa Pederson (Sr.) and Adreienne Amoloria (Jr.) and Madi Odurno. There are also second year players: Carley Pederson, MacKenzie De La Cruz, Livia Barwicki, Olivia Kossakowski, Linda Bulik, Amelia Gorzelany. and Lola Pappas.
These players have made Coach Nicholas, a social studies teacher at the freshman academy, and Coach Bai, a math teacher at the freshman academy, very optimistic and excited to see what’s in store for the team this year.
Coach Nicholas says, “we have a lot of returning players that are dedicated and hard-working. We also have a lot of new players that are dedicated and hard-working.”
The season started February 28 and it ends at the end of May.
