The long anticipated season of sweater weather has fast approached as the sight of colorful leaves, corn mazes, and pumpkin spice take over  with much-anticipated joy sure to make this season a pleasurable one.

Living in a bustling city, Chicago has many activities to offer for the fall season.  Millennium Park offers many concerts and activities. The Lincoln Park Zoo hosts a Fall Fest that runs from Sep. 27 to Oct. 27,* and there an apple fest in Lincoln Square, Ravenswood.

“ My family and I would like to go to forest preserves or nature trails, and we like to watch a football game outside. As well as me, my family, and Mr. Glowacz we have a tradition of running in a Thanksgiving 5k race together. For 5 years we’ve been doing it,” said AVID teacher Seamus McGowan.

If sports are more your thing, with fall season comes the football as the Chicago Bears are scheduled to play at Soldier Field as well as the Northwestern Wildcats*.

Apple picking, jumping into piles of colorful leaves, going through corn mazes, pumpkin carving and enjoying the foods that come with it, such as apple, pumpkin and even grape pie, are highly popular activities that come with the changing of seasons as well, no matter how old one gets.

“I love chilling out with my friends and making them happy as we all just have a good time together. Apple pie life…a la mode,” said Jared Wallace (Div. 034).

Whether or not one likes the chilly weather breeze, one is bound to find something to entertain and love this autumn season.
