Taft hosts a night out at Biagio Events and Catering on Mar. 8, raising more money than the previous years.

Taft Night Out, organized by Melissa Bernier and other parent volunteers, brought a lot of staff, parents, and alumni together for a fun night full of prizes, food, and music provided by Local School Council President Kathy Fern’s band Second Hand Soul.

Director of Counseling and helper of the event, Karen Devine, said, “It was amazing. The location was great at Cafe Biagio. There was a mix of parents, teachers, administrators, alums, and friends of Taft in attendance.

This year, Taft Night Out incorporated an online bidding website so even those who weren’t able to attend, plus students, could bid online. Prizes ranged from front row graduation seats and prom packages to liquor baskets and theater tickets.

Head Librarian and AP Director, Barbara Lynch, said, “I bought a raffle ticket but I didn’t win. I bid on a few silent auction items and was outbid. It wasn’t my night.”

The winner of Night on the Town in Wrigleyville raffle was Anita Bernacchi and the winner of the Lottery Board Raffle was Jeremy Katamay.
