The new up and coming Taft Freshman Academy is in the making and set to open for the 2019-2020 school year.

The building will hold 1,200 students, Freshmen and Academic Center students. Construction continues to run smoothly; you can see the brick going up.

“It’s LEED certified, which means it’s like a green school,” said Assistant Principal, Ryan Glowacz.

Administration said the academy will have six science rooms, three computer labs, three performing art rooms, two visual art rooms, three faculty offices, one media center and a gymnasium which holds 850 people.

The academy will have a few changes, new traditions and a lot more involvement within students.
