Taft’s varsity baseball team is coming back together in preparation for the 2018 season. The team is going to start the new season on Mar. 19, at 4:30 p.m. against Northridge Prep at Taft High School.

Head coach Richard Pildes is pleased to get back to work and back out on the field.

“Every new season is a new challenge. The idea is to continue to improve as the season progresses and maximize the achievements that your talent makes possible,” said Pildes.

Returning pitcher Eric Donnawell is excited for the season to officially start.

“I’m pretty excited for this season because it’s my last year and I want to go out with a bang. Last year we lost the first round of the playoffs so we would like to redeem ourselves. We have a freshman on the team and I can’t wait to help him learn new skills as well,” said Donnawell.
