Taft’s girls varsity Lacrosse team is ready to cross out the competition and run away with many wins this season.

New head coach Jacqueline Andrews is happy to be working with the girls to teach them all about the sport she loves as well as played.

I played lacrosse all throughout high school and college. I started coaching while I was still in college. That is where I picked up my love for teaching the sport of lacrosse. Lacrosse has always been a passion of mine. After college, I moved to an area close to Taft, and when I found out they were looking for a new head coach, thought it would be the perfect place for me to be. I am looking forward to pushing the team to a new level and using techniques and tactics to build on the skills they already have”, said Andrews.

Senior Destinee Smith one of the many returning players is happy to start the new season welcoming the coach Andrews.

“I’m excited for the new season to star because we have a new coach and it’s my senior year and we have some new girls. I am excited to teach the new girls the sport that I truly love”, said Smith.

The Eagles’ first games will be against Resurrection on March 12 at 3:45 p.m. The game will be held at Resurrection.
