The Taft 2018 Girls Softball team is fundraising through a pasta and a candy box Fundraiser.

Girl’s Softball is selling pasta and candy to fundraise for their Spring 2018 season. The fundraising will begin March 5 and last until Spring Break. The team is using the money fundraised towards general equipment, upkeep of the softball field, the trip the Tennessee for a tournament in 2019, and the senior gifts.

They teamed up with Fun Fundraising Pasta for anyone wanting to support the girls with 40% of each purchase going towards the team to help reach their goal of $1,000 dollars. The candy fundraising will be available during the school day through the girl’s softball players during the school day.

“The fundraising is for the general softball program just so that we have funds to do the things that make the Taft softball experience a great one for all of our players… I expect a lot of big things for this upcoming season, especially with the seniors who have a lot of experience. We have two Junior Varsity teams that in the last two years have gone to the City Championship that are now combined. So now I am just looking forward to see what this season is going to bring,” said head coach, Germaine Padilla.

To buy the Fun Fundraising Pasta go to their website and under menu select “support your group” and then type in Taft Lady Eagles Softball and select Illinois. The picture of the team should pop up and by clicking the team you can begin your shopping. The site has many different pasta themes and types that you can order from. The pasta will be shipped and arrive form Tennessee within 3-5 days.

“I am excited for many things this season like a new head coach and how we now have young talent on the varsity level. I can’t wait to get out on the field and see how everything molds together to be a successful team this year. The fundraising for our team is very important because it allows us to buy more equipment that makes us more efficient during our practices and games,” said senior softball player, Ariana Rivota.

To buy the candy look for any girl players in the halls or classrooms holding a giant white box during the school day. Each candy will be two dollars and some goodies in the box are Reese’s, Sour Patches, Kit Kats, Butterfingers and many more!

The softball season has already begun and the girls are preparing for their fast approaching first game on May. 12th. Fundraising will show your support and school spirit. Also look out for the annual Softball Fan Cloth that will be sold through the softball players to represent them.
