Taft’s newest club, Soaring Eagles, needs members to help Fight For Air in the American Lung Association’s fight for air climb.

Club sponsor, Marianne Villasenor, would like to get a group of people together to create a team to help fight and participate in the American Lung Association’s fight for air climb, Couch to Climb, that takes place on March 11 at the Presidential Tower downtown. Anyone in the Taft community can join the team to climb and raise money. Each team member needs to fundraise at least 100 dollars to participate in the climb. Although if you do not want to climb or physically cannot, but still want to donate, you can donate to the American Lung Association.

The American Lung Association is a non profit leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy. For more than 110 years they have led this search for cures and improvements. Their work is focused on five strategic imperatives: to defeat lung cancer, to improve the air we breathe, to reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families, to eliminate tobacco use and tobacco related diseases, and to accelerate fundraiser fundraising and enhance organizational effectiveness to support the urgency of our mission.

The American Lung Association wants to save lives by improving lung health and the air we all breathe-a world free of lung cancer. By participating in this climb you would be doing the same. The climb includes 180 floors and 2,340 steps and registration is open now!
